What do I know to be true?

I know that the United States has lost its way, on so many fronts. I know that those of us who are fighting for our liberties are the biggest patriots. I know the sacrifices we make and the price we pay to try to right our world. And I know that, if it came down to it, I would lay down my life to be free - from modern-day corporate slavery and from increasingly corrupt governments.

But the fact is, we have the power to have a nonviolent revolution in this nation and it is imperative that we rise up intelligently, peacefully, and with a bedrock dedication to never being what we are fighting against.

Do we scare the power elite? Hell yes, and for good reason. Arab Spring, Occupy, and every one of us fighting for a better world represent a new era. We hold out hope for the evolution of the human race beyond greed, fear, and keeping each other small. And that means that the pillars of oppression will have to come down. It means so many things have to change, because in the end, we have to be the keys to our freedom - and that is exactly what we are working on.
