I believe we are living in an interesting age. An age that will likely go down in history as a turning point in geopolitical politics. It is up to us how it is remembered. And I believe it is our job to fight injustice whenever and wherever we see it.

This is why I Occupy: The enaction of laws that are direct attacks on our basic freedoms, such as the NDAA and The Patriot Act. "Corporate Personhood" which results in unfettered campaign donations (bribes) and exorbitant amounts of capital spent on corporate lobbies, which in turn shape the political policies that effect us all. Our unresponsive congress and our broken electoral system. The endless and unwinnable War on Terror and our ballooning military budget. The expansion in the use of unmanned weaponry in warfare. The ongoing occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, the illegal drone wars in Yemen, Pakistan and other countries across the middle east. The targeted killings of US citizens abroad and well as the assault on our basic rights at home. Austerity measures which target the poor and working class while the rich get richer. The consolidation of wealth at the top of the economic scale so that the 1% owns over 42% of the nations wealth while the bottom 80% owns only 7%. The attacks on Women's rights and on LGBTQ rights. Racism within the criminal justice system which has resulted in the disproportionate incarceration and targeting of people of color. The rise of the police state and police brutality in all forms.

Now is the time for change. This is why I Occupy.
