Why I Occupy:

Welcome to the Paradigm Shift! I occupy because when the spirit calls you to dance, you dance! I heard the global call to action and brought my voice out of hiding! We, the underdogs, have all seen the balance of powers shifting out of reach and have stood silent from fear and isolation for far too long. The greed, manipulation, and abuse of people, resources, and the environment on a global scale for years left unchecked has created such an imbalance in our abilities to create and fulfill our basic goals as humans that we have no choice but to make things right today, to reconnect and evolve, to heal hurt!

After years of hard work, I was laid off. But I found an occupation. I occupy because of my children: for my 25-year-old son who joined the Army and served in Iraq because jobs were hard to find when those laid off like me were taking those jobs out of necessity, and for my 13 and 11-year-old daughters who deserve attainable educations and housing on a planet fit to live on as well. I occupy to help create a better world for my children and the next seven generations and to teach that lesson to my children. Our future depends on our actions today.
