Human beings have been separated by the belief that in order to be happy and successful, we must afford more distance from each other. We buy bigger houses, larger lots and even luxury cars that literally block out the sounds of life going on around us. We believe this is our American Dream.

But this thing called "Occupy" has awakened our need for each other. I guarantee our happiest moments are our human moments. We share a laugh, we find comfort in grief, we enjoy a meal, we play a song. Happiness. Our search for meaning leads us back to each other. We know that there must be more than TV and chemicals to get through the day.

This craving for each other has literally led us out into our city streets. We have abandoned our warm homes for the warmth of each other. We have abandoned our kitchens to break bread together. Our need for each other is growing stronger and though we may be evicted over and over and beaten and torn from each other's grasp by those that would separate us, the time of separation is over.

Our adversaries criticize us for having no leader but do not understand that the days of hierarchies are over. We have outgrown the old ways of control and a new way of making decisions together is emerging like a Phoenix rising from the ashes of the loneliness of material wealth. This is our time to be happy! We ALL win. We can stop climbing and stop isolating. Let us now allow ourselves to lean on each other, slow down, make eye contact, breathe and truly live.
