Interviewer: What would you say to people in the movement who might be feeling discouraged with not seeing enough results?
"Evolution, a la revolution, takes a long time, and much intelligence, and wisdom, and psychological growth. I wouldn't like to see any egos, outpacing other egos.
I don't believe in consensus because it's open to infiltration by the CIA, and that happened to me in my own organization. So be careful. Be wise, be intelligent. You do need leaders, but that, I think, will evolve over time. But don't shoot down people because they are leaders, if they are inspired.
You need people who will inspire and lift other people up by their bootstraps, because your movement, I think is the only way now that the earth will survive. I think it's so important.
You've got everyone behind you really. The banks are scared stiff of you and everyone else. So go for it, baby!"
Dr. Helen Caldicott from an interview with Occupy Portland March 31, 2012.
